the new season Thanks to everyone for the messages of support for Jono and I after we decided to carry on with the reserves.we need continuing support now boys for the club to be successful we need continuity of selection, too many players have missed games already this season for at times, pathetic reasons ! It would appear that we have a few players playing in friendly matches whilst carrying injuries. Please advise your coaches of any injuries as early as possible and remember telling us on thurs that your not available this week is NO GOOD it is your job to inform the team managers of your non-availabity as soon as you know now lets all get together and kick some ass !! Posted by STEVE REED on 06 September 2010 Good Luck! Just a quick message to wish both teams Good Luck for the coming season! Keep up the hard work that was started last season and I am sure both teams will fall fruitful. I'll be back when i can Dave to fill the Striker problems you have! Duffy - 100% record. x Posted by Duffy on 23 August 2010 Danny Davies Cup An excellent day was had by all at the Danny Davies cup - a 6 a side tournament held at BASA organised by John Walker supported by a possee of player helpers . Bedale Towns team ran out winners from the 6 clubs who entered with a squad comprising of - Dean Hudson , Dave Proud , Jonnys Coombs and Morris , Joe Lennon , and former Bedale player Alex Bell . Guest appearances were made by Shane Parkinson and Jack Reynard with the team ably supported by Sam Proud and Beth Goodwin Posted by d goodwin on 01 August 2010 Baby Bram' Sharpshooter Adam Bramley and his wife are celebrating the arrival of new baby Liam earlier this week , all were doing fine and Bram' is expecting to be back for the start of the season having done his own pre season training fitting in around feeding and nappies !! We scored 114 goals and had 61 scored against us . The first team used 48 different players over the season . Managers opinion - the league table doesnt lie , over the season Kirkby Malzeard and Thirsk were better than us , but as the end of season results against those 2 teams prove there is a very fine line now between those teams , AND i dont believe we have seen the best of our players yet , there is still untapped potential , which we have seen in flashes but needs to come together more consistently . On field discipline was good with no sending offs and only a handful of bookings during the season . Thanks - must go to the President , Chairman and secretary without whom the club would not exist ; Andy Clapham for a top class pitch , Verna for top class after match hospitality . All the 48 players who played , especially those who helped us out in emergencies - Lee Mac , Lee Sharda , Callum Fletcher , Nick Carlisle, Matty Dodsworth , to name a few ; the 8 or so players who played most of the games over the season , they know who they are - massive committment and respect to you guys , and the lads from the seconds who stepped up when needed - Duffy , Jordan and Stu were always there for us . Posted by Dave Goodwin on 13 June 2010 100% record...1 game - 1 goal! hahaha Posted by Duffy on 23 August 2010 Double congrats Double congrats - First celebration is - A young Kinners is on the scene with Kerry and Leigh having the boy Joshua recently - Mum and baby are doing well but Dads in a state of panic trying to decide whether to invest in a junior size Torres shirt before he leaves to go to United ! Second congrats is to Adam Coombs who must be the luckiest man in Bedale as Ashleigh said yes when he popped the question over dessert recently. Hard work behind the scenes from Dave,Jono,Clarkey and Kinners has made sure we have been up to the task, and a brilliant attitude from AJ, Max,Charlie,Mark Donaldson,Dobbo,Kitch,Tom O'Gorman and Alex Wilson has seen us make sure that our club is on a sound footing for years to come.Congratulations boys very richly deserved, you have been a credit to our club!!! Posted by reedy & jono on 26 April 2010 Champions !!! Congratulations to all the second team players and management for winning the third division and being unbeaten all season. Particular pats on the back to those who committed to make the long trip to Addingham for the last game and whilst thanks must go to those players who have filled in and helped out , the real credit has to go to those guys who have been there all season long thro thick and thin - Steve and Jono , Duffy , AJ , lil Phil , Stu Adams , Charlie , Mark Donaldson ,Dobbo respect fellas - youve done the marathon . And where the first team have lost the benefit of Clarky not being available , the second team have gained from his support and experience - What a team !!! Posted by Dave Goodwin on 25 April 2010 A JOB WELL DONE. Absolutely massive result for the 2nd Team with a 3-2 away win at Ripon Red Arrows last night in what could have been an intimidating environment for the lesser experienced lads in the squad. Everybody involved needs to be congratulated on a hard working team display on a pitch that had certainly seen better days. This has now put Bedale firmly in the driving seat for League Title, but the job is not done just yet. We have to keep focused and make sure that we continue our efforts and finish the task we set out do. Excellent work fellas keep it going. Posted by Clarkey on 23 April 2010 Well said Clarky, totally agree! A massive result and the game everyone has been waiting for, the lads are a credit to themselves after picking themselves up after a narrow defeat in the Cup final last week. The less experienced lads showed a great attitude in what Clarky rightly described as an intimidating environment and will surely prove to be good experience for them. With the finish line in site, we are only 1 step away from what we set out to achieve at the very start of the season, Addingham on saturday requires full concentration despite the fact it was a walkover in the previous meeting, they have not had a result like that since and have recently won a couple of games. So we will need be at the races to make sure the 3 points required are taken! Then we can celebrate when we come away with what we have worked for and fully deserve. With credit not only going to the players but EVERYONE involved, Steve and Jono for taking their time to manage the reserve team, Dave and Keith for managing the first team, But more importantly for those 4 in working as a team to help get Bedale moving back in the right direction with 2 teams working together succesfully. With credit also going to Clarky and Kinners for filling for training and often filling in as managers right hand men aswell as playing, and finally not to forget the backroom staff of Geordie, Martyn, Adrian etc. Posted by Duffy on 23 April 2010 reserves cup final glad to see the reserves cup final game v wigton moor has been advertised to its full potential...... (Im going to do some stretches!) the worst excuse ive heard. Most Skillful ? Jacko, Caygill can sometimes pull a trick out of the bag as well Hard man? A few who like to think so - Ad Coombs never backs down, Jonos famous nut, Phil 'feels no pain' parker, 'Mad dog' Kinners, and you wont push Proudy over easily, but I think Bram is a bit of a dark horse for this one! The Joker ? Spew Adams is usually on the wrong end of most jokes. Does Gordie Wilkie still count after being away? If not its got to be Parker Fastest ? Stupid by a long way Most Intelligent ? A few that keep it quiet in there, gonna have to go for Danny Carrick though. Least Intelligent ? Stupid is streets ahead of anyone else in this one. Not that Worst Taste in Music ? Abbo , Kinners and Clarky are very committed outside of our sessions. Worst trainer - Bram , Proudy , Rob Tit' , Monk , Marc Adams - but what a 5 a side team ! worst dressed - all those in sunderland shirts ! Joker - parko , proudy , Dadi coombs , duffy and Reedy . Smoothest - Dadi coombs is champions league standard Biggest moaner - probably Reedy , Jono and me - Keiths exempt from this , he is far too rational, measured and reasonable. Hard Man - to be honest these guys are a bit like the old 7os leeds team - when the opposition want to play they will play , and when they want to mix it , there are a few who can mix it , but its all very professional and focussed on getting a result rather than uneccessary 'handbags' - Dadi coombs doesnt shrink back , Proudy doesnt go over easily , and Matt G has learned that there is a better way than pinning then oppo centre forward to the floor by the throat ! Most Skillfull - Jacko likes a trick and Franco and Phil (Max) have got a few turns in their locker. Joker - Adam Coombs always has something to contribute whether we're laughing with him or at him. Fastest - Graham Cayhgill can shift but its usually cos he's chasing his 1st touch. Most Intelligent - P.P. marco adams and Clarky come accross as an educated bunch. I hope your hitting the gym out there and not twisting by the pool! Peace Posted by on 17 December 2009 todays match with the first team game off , it gave me an opportunity to watch the seconds in their cup match against hamsthwaite and what a good game it was too - a real team performance right down to the 3 subs. With the strings being pulled by old hands Duffy , Monk , Clarky and AEC , the young players in the team chased , hassled and ran rings around the hamsthwaite players . You couldn't fail to be impressed with young max on the left and AJ s mature performance at centre back , Abbo at left back gave a terrific performance for a right footed player . Stu grabbed the glory with some well taken goals but for me the performance of the day was the "tranny" playing in midfield. Highlight of the day was Dobbos audacious nutmeg on their right back in the last few minutes - great stuff boys, good luck in the next round .... By the way a real sporting moment happened with Stus 3rd goal , with the ref was about to cave in to the calls for offside , he was told by the Hamsthwaite lino that it was his own left back who played stu on - good to see ! Posted by dave goodwin on 05 December 2009 Yeah a great result, strong performance with the team always in control! Very good to have Stu scoring again. Nice to see some 1st team players down watching, added to the party atmosphere! Solid defence, world class midfield (Although i had to do a bit more running than normal (I'm sure Tranny can add that to his game though). Always looked danderous with Stu's pace and Monky's clever positioning. Picks of the day... Abbo was outstanding playing at left back, a great dummy leading up to the 1st goal on stroke of half time and then the consistency of Jordans kicking!!!!!! Roll on the next round... Posted by fanny rat on 08 November 2009 players attitude player availabilty is becoming an increasing concern to the four managers at this club in short, your efforts to be available to play on saturdays are crap.My opinion is that too many players within this club have a lazy attitude and a can't be arsed frame of mind BE WARNED the managers are already getting fed up of it!!! Posted by steve reed on 06 October 2009 Reserves.......... With a 2-1 loss at the weekend to a poor Reeth side there is nobody that could have come of that pitch and say we or they did enough. I'm not sure if a strool in the park attitude has set in because we are top of the league and seem to be easing through the first few league games, but if that is the case then there will be a shock come the end of the season, WE can not afford to think that games are won before we go into them. Yes there are excuses for the conditions at the weekend, but both teams were on the same pitch, did the conditions suit them? possibly but that should never be used as an excuse..........yes we are a 'football playing' side but you have to remember wot league we are playing in and come mid winter fancy football against teams that like to be physical or lump it about will not work. WE need to be able to mix it with all teams aswell as play nice football when appropriate. Vast improvement and much more commitment required. We can NOT keep relying on the same heads to bail us out. Lets start next week.
