Posted by Duffy on 23 August 2010  Danny Davies Cup An excellent day was had by all at the Danny Davies cup - a 6 a side tournament held at BASA organised by John Walker supported by a possee of player helpers . Bedale Towns team ran out winners from the 6 clubs who entered with a squad comprising of - Dean Hudson , Dave Proud , Jonnys Coombs and Morris , Joe Lennon , and former Bedale player Alex Bell . Guest appearances were made by Shane Parkinson and Jack Reynard with the team ably supported by Sam Proud and Beth Goodwin Posted by d goodwin on 01 August 2010 Baby Bram' Sharpshooter Adam Bramley and his wife are celebrating the arrival of new baby Liam earlier this week , all were doing fine and Bram' is expecting to be back for the start of the season having done his own pre season training fitting in around feeding and nappies !! Keep working hard and you never know you might be able to do as many kick ups as me. Weathers rubbish out here it dropped to 41 degrees yesterday i think i might have caught a cold. Good luck for the start on next season and keep the results and teams updated so i can keep following how ya getting on. I'm off to the pool to watch the Aussies get humped by the krauts. We scored 114 goals and had 61 scored against us . The first team used 48 different players over the season . Managers opinion - the league table doesnt lie , over the season Kirkby Malzeard and Thirsk were better than us , but as the end of season results against those 2 teams prove there is a very fine line now between those teams , AND i dont believe we have seen the best of our players yet , there is still untapped potential , which we have seen in flashes but needs to come together more consistently . On field discipline was good with no sending offs and only a handful of bookings during the season . Thanks - must go to the President , Chairman and secretary without whom the club would not exist ; Andy Clapham for a top class pitch , Verna for top class after match hospitality . All the 48 players who played , especially those who helped us out in emergencies - Lee Mac , Lee Sharda , Callum Fletcher , Nick Carlisle, Matty Dodsworth , to name a few ; the 8 or so players who played most of the games over the season , they know who they are - massive committment and respect to you guys , and the lads from the seconds who stepped up when needed - Duffy , Jordan and Stu were always there for us . What he lacks in ability he makes up for in effort. Worst Trainer - Haven't seen a lot of the 1st team train so its a tricky 1, but Jacko or Franco always have something to grunt about. Most Skillfull - Jacko likes a trick and Franco and Phil (Max) have got a few turns in their locker. Joker - Adam Coombs always has something to contribute whether we're laughing with him or at him. Fastest - Graham Cayhgill can shift but its usually cos he's chasing his 1st touch. Most Intelligent - P.P. marco adams and Clarky come accross as an educated bunch. Least Intelligent - A couple of the younger boys look like they struggle with their homework but i think mark not knowing what occupation means has got to tip it for me Worst Dressed - A couple of contenders Jonny Coombs for that ridiculous hat he always seems to be wearing with a cock on the front (maybe he thinks it cool), but i think Stu Adams pips him. Dressed to rob old grannies. Worst Taste in Music - Tough 1. Got to be AJ he just looks like he'd like crap music.
