An excellent day was had by all at the Danny Davies cup - a 6 a side tournament held at BASA organised by John Walker supported by a possee of player helpers . Bedale Towns team ran out winners from the 6 clubs who entered with a squad comprising of - Dean Hudson , Dave Proud , Jonnys Coombs and Morris , Joe Lennon , and former Bedale player Alex Bell . Guest appearances were made by Shane Parkinson and Jack Reynard with the team ably supported by Sam Proud and Beth Goodwin

Sharpshooter Adam Bramley and his wife are celebrating the arrival of new baby Liam earlier this week , all were doing fine and Bram' is expecting to be back for the start of the season having done his own pre season training fitting in around feeding and nappies !!

Congratulations to all the lads who got awards on Friday, good effort. Keep working hard and you never know you might be able to do as many kick ups as me.

Weathers rubbish out here it dropped to 41 degrees yesterday i think i might have caught a cold.

The Facts - Played 31 games , won 20 , drew 1 , lost 10 . finished 3rd in the HDPL and reached the semi final of the Challenge Cup . We scored 114 goals and had 61 scored against us . The first team used 48 different players over the season .

Managers opinion - the league table doesnt lie , over the season Kirkby Malzeard and Thirsk were better than us , but as the end of season results against those 2 teams prove there is a very fine line now between those teams , AND i dont believe we have seen the best of our players yet , there is still untapped potential , which we have seen in flashes but needs to come together more consistently . On field discipline was good with no sending offs and only a handful of bookings during the season .

Thanks - must go to the President , Chairman and secretary without whom the club would not exist ; Andy Clapham for a top class pitch , Verna for top class after match hospitality . All the 48 players who played , especially those who helped us out in emergencies - Lee Mac , Lee Sharda , Callum Fletcher , Nick Carlisle, Matty Dodsworth , to name a few ; the 8 or so players who played most of the games over the season , they know who they are - massive committment and respect to you guys , and the lads from the seconds who stepped up when needed - Duffy , Jordan and Stu were always there for us .

TEAM MATES:

Best Trainer - Probably me, but Abbo always puts a shift in as do old boys Clarky and Kinners.

Worst Trainer - Matty Goodwin and Phil Parker...it's not just about attendance boys!

Most Skillful - Probably Max 'phil' or Luis of the pitch, but on the pitch Brammers and jacko gots da skillz.

The Joker - Ad Coombs, Giby when about.

Fastest - Stu Adams is fast, but wouldn't beat Goodwin to a pie!

Most Intelligent - Matty Al has got stats but no intelligence, Few look clever (J Coombs) but i'd say Parker!

Least Intelligent - Dobbo, Max, Mark, JORDAN, New Boy TASK! Lot's of them. Winner Stevie Dawson!

Worst Dress Sense - Jordan has some horrid combinations, Aaron and his latest clobber. Stu and his 3 quarter lengths, i think AJ shops at same place.

Worst Taste in Music - Haven't heard to much music from the lads but it is a guarantee that Dobbo prob likes his slipknot and Dean likes his A1.

And...Who's the longest in the shower - Hair takes a long time to clean, then boots, then Adams pi55 of your leg. Adam or little Philly
